When Lillian moved to Cheshire, CT, after living in Hackensack, NJ, over 35 years, she had to start over and make new friends.

Her new condo in Cheshire Hillside Village had two bedrooms, a small private deck and its own washer and dryer. There was also a community room with activities. At first, she continued to drive and was able to get around town, to the Senior Center for their activities, and to our house. She immediately met her new neighbors and became good friends with them, too. Everyone liked her!

She enjoyed being close to us and also enjoyed having her grandsons sleep over. Below you can see some of the activities she participated in when she wasn’t with us..

I wonder what recipe she contributed to win the Elderly Nutrition Program award?

Although she had never gardened before, she and her new friends planted a garden out fron and won the Beauty Spot of the Month award from the Cheshire Garden Club.

In addition to her activities, she was able to attend the boys sports and other school events, graduations, the Bar and Bat Mitzvahs of our friends children, in addition to her own grandsons’, and many other events that she would have missed if she stayed in New Jersey. All in all, it was a good move for her.
