Anna’s parents were Arthur / Asher Lewin (Levine in the U.S.). We believe they had at least three children who emigrated to the United States:
- Chana, aka Anna
- Max
- Abe
Anna’s spouse was Isadore Rothman. They were married in Tuszyn in Galicia.
On Isadore’s ship manifest of Detained Passengers of 1904, he states he is going to his brother-in-law’s home in New York City. His brother-in-law is Max Lewin who lives at 243 Grand in New York City. [1]
From family lore, we also believe there was a brothe,r Abe, who had a daughter named Lil. Lil was married to Sam Stein.
Because there were multiple people with the names Max Lewin and Abe Levine / Lewin in the New York area, it is difficult to narrow them down as Anna’s brothers.
